A Little Bit About Us…….

 

We are a small to medium sized business who specializes in offering a unique renovation service to clients who simply don’t have the time to do it themselves, are not experienced in this industry and don’t know where to start or those who have just been let down too many times by trades people, that they are just not game enough to give it another go!

 

I came into this business from years of working, investing and growing up in the building industry. Myself and my husband Stephen (Co. Director of The Site Foreman) spent many years buying, renovating and selling small to medium homes in the Sydney area.

 

This is a passion we have both shared for many years and still do; however, we found that the stress of builder’s and tradesman was getting the better of us and our bank account!

 

It was the end of a busy week when we joined a couple of friends for dinner that where also renovating and poured our hearts to them when they asked, “Why does renovating have to be so hard. Surely there is someone out there who can make it hassle free and maybe even a little fun”? We all joked about how there were no such thing.

 

It was the next morning that my husband and I began our new journey in what we thought was a hard and stressful industry. My husband began his search for a number of professional consultants for the larger jobs which is now known as The Site Foreman and I began my research to look after the smaller jobs. We have never looked back!

 

I contacted a number of people who had just undertaken some type of building works from a new kitchen to an entire facelift of their home and made a list of the things people complained most about.

 

I spent over (1) year putting my research together whilst still renovating and getting a panel of what I would say are Sydney’s best suppliers and sub-contractors and directed my business towards offering people what they really wanted but found it impossible to find.

 

Below is what I found and (5) years on, I have succeeded and love what I do!

There is nothing worse than getting half way through the job and realising that you have blown your budget and are just not going to have enough money to complete it!

 

At House to Home, our aim is to get a detailed list of what your requirements are and what your realistic budget is and have our trades and suppliers quote to exact specifications to ensure no blow outs half way through the job.

 

For those clients who are working to a strict budget, we can put together an allowance spreadsheet for your fittings and fixtures which limits your exposure to over spend on those items that we can not give a fixed price on until they have been chosen.

 

We make the renovation process hassle free

We take the time to communicate with you and / or your partner.

 

We co-ordinate our sub-contractors to meet with us onsite to run through the specified works and in most cases aim to have them all meet at the same time and day to ensure you are not inconvenienced and can get on with your day.

 

We save you money by using our panel of quality checked sub-contractors

All our sub-contractors are regularly price checked as well a quality checked to ensure licenses and insurances are in order.

 

The fact that we specialize in small to medium jobs, allows us to do a number of jobs at any one time.

The advantage of this is loyalty and competitive pricing from sub-contractors who are tendering with us on a regular basis.

 

We save you even more money by using our panel of long term quality suppliers

In the same way we check our sub-contractors, we also regularly price check our suppliers.

Once again, as these suppliers are able to obtain a number of jobs from us on a monthly basis, we are on a highly competitive pricing scale which gives us buying power.

 

We tailor packages to suit your individual requirements or take you shopping

Some of our clients simply just don’t have the time to go shopping and therefore, from your list of requirements, we can tailor a package of quality fixtures and fittings for you to choose from to make the process easier or we can take you shopping and assist in the selections.

 

The most important part of the selection process is our knowledge in each of the products available.

When assisting you with your selections, practicality and functionality of your product is high on our list.

 

We assist in the selections of your materials, colour and design works with our in-house qualified colourists and interior designers

We get the job done as detailed in your personalised specifications

We will spend some time ensuring we have all your requirements outlined for reference by us, our sub-contractors and for your peace of mind.

 

We do this by preparing detailed documentation on each stage of your job and ensuring that all

sub-contractors involved in this stage have the same set of documentation.

This ensures no room for error or unnecessary variations.

 

We have a dedicated and qualified Project Manager who has held a builder’s license for over 33 years, who will oversee all works undertaken on site

The value for money service you would in most cases have to pay for elsewhere! Alan will at varied stages of your project visit site or work with the sub-contractors to ensure quality workmanship that is of Australian Standards.

 

In addition to this, Alan will oversee sub-contractors variations (if any) to ensure they are valid and reasonable.

 

We respect your home and your privacy

We don’t trample through your home with our dirty shoes and nor do our sub-contractors.

All our regular sub-contractors are aware of this and respect our wishes that they are to be as neat and tidy as possible on entering your home.

 

One of our House to Home staff members will in most cases be onsite when anyone visits to ensure your privacy and home are respected. You are given a time and date of any visits so there are no early morning surprises!

 

If you don’t change your mind – then neither does our fixed price quote

Once we have had the opportunity to have all our required sub-contractors quote the job, we are then able to guarantee a fixed price quote based on the specifications we detail with you prior to quoting. Any item we can not give a fixed price quote on is given a realistic provisional allowance.

 

We have all our insurances, warranties and licenses in order

Protecting ourselves means also protecting you!

All our products and services are guaranteed by the manufactures and/or our Home Owner’s Warranty.

 

We are comfortable about advertising this point as we have nothing to hide.
